Big SCAM.Big Scam
I went here Click here. To Fix what Motime did to my credit card.
June 7th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
It is a scam! I don’t know how I was allured to that URL. I think that I may accidentally subscribe to that their. Without even success in downloading anything from their, I then immediately cancel my subscription. Then in this month’s bill, I saw the $10 charge. This business practice is really bad. I tried to call their customer service, but seems the the number given doesn’t work. Strangely, their site doesn’t even list where the company is located.
June 29th, 2010 at 5:29 pm
Motime are nothing but shysters. I downloaded a ringtone which appeared to be free and now they say I signed up! I never signed up and they have charged me 9.99 twice through my phone. Yeh – they’re scammers. And when I called they cancelled my subscription. So what they do is trick you into it and say they can’t refund. Their customer service in an Indian call room.
July 5th, 2010 at 8:27 pm
i actually like what ive gotten from motime so far. it always stinks to hear when other people dont have a good experience but mine have been fine with motime.
did you read the tos before using the service? motime isnt trying to trick anyone. oh well i have had no issues.
July 20th, 2010 at 2:06 pm
I signed up and after 2 months canceled my subscription with 7 credits left thinking that this way I would not be charged for more. then it ends up when you cancel you cant even use the credits you have been charged for. I liked them at first but it seems like they will take your money with no regard if you dont like it. be careful and make sure your balance is at zero when you cancel.
August 10th, 2010 at 3:58 am
It is a total scam, you are tricked into signing up then it’s hard to cancel. Really sad.
August 15th, 2010 at 12:39 pm
Scam is not the word. Robbery is. You get redirected to these people, download (make sure you read terms first) and then you are notified of the $9.99 mo. subscription. It’s all done seamlessly. You don’t have to confirm that you agree to terms. Just download and you are screwed. Nowhere in the terms does it say the $9.99 in NON REFUNDABLE. The you call and argue with someone in a sweat box in India. Waiting for call from his “supervisor”. This should be good for nothing call if they call back. Call your carrier and report scam and don’t pay it. Then call the FTC.

THIS COMPANY IS THE BIGGEST SCAM I HAVE CURRENTLY ENCOUNTERED!!!
I have never even heard of this website until a $10 charge started showing up on my mobile bill.
I firmly believe that this company just pulls out of thin air random cell phone numbers and starts a running subscription. They were all too eager to refund me every dollar charged without denying any type of wrongdoing.
Let me reaffirm that I didn’t blindly download something without seeing a TOS.
I have never once downloaded a ringtone or image or mp3 to my cell phone!!!
It is strictly a business line.
HUGE SCAME!

TOTAL SCAM!!!
October 21st, 2010 at 8:58 am
I have no idea how I got to this site in the first place. I remember an offer of a free ringtone of some kind but certainly not subscribing to anything that costs 10.00 per month plus three dollars handling by the wireless carrier. This is as close to a scam as I have seen and what is even worse is the fact that a legitimate wireless carrier supports this through their billing mechanism
October 30th, 2010 at 9:42 am
They bill you $9.99/month on your phone bill until you stop it. Sounds like a scam to me.
November 5th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
I saw an add for them on beemp3.com and since I’ll be getting a plan soon and am now with prepaid I figured I would try it. Of course, I get the pin, I enter it, they text me saying to enter a link to get my song. Of course, I enter it, and it doesn’t work. I don’t get my song. Luckily u just have to text “stop” to them and it cancels ur subscription, but when I checked to see how much money I had on my phone it knocked off 10 dollars. Scam I say!
November 11th, 2010 at 7:10 am
That is a crystal pure well-thought-through scam. You receive the text ad from ROGERS with offer to get free download from motime.ca. Free download – alright! You go there, they offer you to register. It appears that by simply registering you are automatically agreeing to 10$ monthly subscription. Rogers, not motime.ca, will bill you, adding their 3 bucks of “handling” charges. This is all actually written on the registration page – but in tiny font and UNDER the registration form, not within it.
Once you are registered – you lost minimum 13 bucks. If you did not understand what was going on – and I was in a bit of a hurry when I tried to get my “free” download (never understood why they call it free, I was charged up to my ears for it) – you will be charged through your next cell monthly bill. You sigh, say goodbye to 13 bucks and forget about it – till next cell monthly bill arrives and you understands that you’ve been screwed. Very carefully thought scheme, also VERY DIRTY. Shame on Rogers.
November 11th, 2010 at 4:06 pm
Big scam, they advertise a ringtone and when you sign up they
don’t have it. Then even if you have not downloaded a single ringtone, they charge you $9.99. I know I am not very cell phone
literate but I could not even figure out how to get one of their. ringtone on my phone. Forget Motime!!!!!
November 19th, 2010 at 8:01 am
They are scammers!! They are out of New York but answer the phones in India!!! $13 bucks here up in Canada and I wasn’t even aware of the charges…Pure Scam; nothing more and nothing less!!!
December 1st, 2010 at 11:20 am
ABSOLUTE SCAM and ROBBERY. MUST REPORT TO CONSUMER ALERT SHUT THEM DOWN.
December 8th, 2010 at 8:40 am
Scam !!! Subscription put on our cell phone bill without authorization or knowledge. We have never used their products or services nor enquired.
If I hadn’t looked closely at our monthly bill, I’d never have seen this $9.99 charge.
Can I say this louder? MOTIME SCAM ARTISTS
December 13th, 2010 at 9:46 am
Don’t go for the free ring tone bs they get you as soon as you do this. If you want to pay for ring tones then you go there but I got a free one this signs you up and then they charge you $10 a month on your bill if you did not down load any and cancel you can not download anything they cut you off right away so they got your money and you don’t get any ring tones scammers!
December 23rd, 2010 at 11:16 am
yes, Motime is ABSOLUTELY HUUUUGGGGGEE SCAM. They should be investigated. I only wanted one ring tone yet they kept charging me. I settled my bill thru my server hoping that I would be refunded because of incompatiliblity with my cellphone. They won’t give me back my money. This should be investigated by the police.NEVER NEVER EVER DEAL with MOTIME. Take my word for it.
December 27th, 2010 at 8:56 pm
SCAM!!!! SCAM!!!
December 31st, 2010 at 2:21 am
I ONLY gave them my phone number so I could get their “free ringtone download” THEN it asked me to sing up for their $9.99 monthly thing, which I did NOT sign up for and I still got billed. Bull*&$% in my book, I hope they get shut down. Plus the real kicker, their stupid ringtones don’t even work for my phone, I have a Blackberry for crap’s sakes.
January 3rd, 2011 at 9:00 pm
got suckered out of $9.99
i was looking for a ringtone and believed it was available, but found out after double opt in that it was not. cancelled immediately without downloading anything, but was still charged $9.99. Request for money back denied.
BEWARE!!!
January 27th, 2011 at 1:01 pm
I just got off the phone with Verizon. I discovered the charge on my cell phone bill for Data motime. It had started some months back and my wife and I had missed it and had no idea we had subscribed. I called dada motime and was told there were no refunds period. So I called Verizon, my carrier, and they took $80 dollars off my bill with no questions. Hopefully they will quit accepting charges from dada motime—RIGHT!!! Verizon’s fraud number is 866-428-3975
January 28th, 2011 at 9:31 am
After seeing a charge for this company on my cell bill I immediately called them to find out what it was and how I even got it. They claimed that I was sent a text meassage to suscribe and that there is no way to complete the subsricption until a reply was made, but i’m the only person with access to the phone and I KNOW that I didn’t reply to any such message or even recieve one, and I checked. So I cancelled it in not such a nice tone and procceded to call my carrier who luckily just took the charges off. I completely agree with others, SCAM!
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:23 am
Welll I was singing up but the got out very fast but now it won’t let me send stop to them , wtf ,so I am wondering if it will still charge me even though I never finished!
February 11th, 2011 at 5:30 pm
MOTIME=MO-SCAMS!!!
MY RANT: After I saw the charges I called the call center based in India (1-877-323-2226) and spoke to “Oscar” the Supervisor. Waste of Time, the Head Administrator: Christopher Lam lives in Toronto. for more info go to:WHOIS.net and type in Motime.ca
WHAT TO DO:
Here’s what you do: to get the charge reversed Call your cell phone service provider and tell them to reverse the charges. In my case they had to call Motime.ca in India to get the charges reversed. If your service provider won’t reverse the charges…hang-up & call back again one of the service agents will eventually do it.
Oh, most important make sure you un-subscribe even if you never did in the first place to prevent more charges.
REVENGE: go to the CRTC website and email in a detailed report.
February 14th, 2011 at 4:45 pm
IMHO a big scam. There’s a sucker born every minute and in this case it was me. By the time you scroll down their I-Pad promo, you’ve subscribed without you realizing it. The CRTC will get a report.
February 16th, 2011 at 9:25 am
Thanks goodness someone in our household goes over the bell bill with a fine tooth comb. I never signed up for Motime yet it appeared twice on our phone bill. I’m rippin’ mad. My better half thinks I signed up for it. I mean how else would any dickhead company be able to bill you without your knowledge
February 16th, 2011 at 11:13 pm
Motime has a “try to win a i-phone , click here” after u do it gets u to answer a question afterwhich u enter ur cell number to receive a “code” and zzingg ur subscribed to the site …..heres the kicker automatically $10 comes out of your cell bill, if ur pay as u go and the subsription is auto n,,,,wow
March 4th, 2011 at 9:08 pm

March 12th, 2011 at 8:52 am
I made a mistake in not reading the finer print. When the text appeared on my phone, I did not down load the music and called Motime immediately to tell them I made a mistake and do not want a monthly subscription of $10/mth. They said the $10 has already been charged and will not credit me but will cancel future subsciption.
March 14th, 2011 at 3:25 pm
Definatly a huge scam, I did not enter a contest or try for a free ringtone,,,nothing,,,just checked my phonebill for last month and had an extra $30 in fees for text messages from 22700 motime.ca. Recently I have received texts like ,,,Einstein never drove a car! and was charged $5.00 for each time they sent a message. I had deleted each one not realizing that I was being scammed. Telus kindly refunded me for the charges but today I received yet another message. Was told to send a text saying stop and had a response saying they would not send anymore of their services to my phone. This should not be allowed to go on in Canada”!¤%Criminal.
April 12th, 2011 at 10:10 am
It’s a big scam, I tried to download FREE ringtone (with no luck), and now on the bill it is showing $10 charge.
April 15th, 2011 at 9:32 am
April 15 -2011
Like the others I have been scammed by Motime.
They have charged on my Rogers Cell phnoe bill $13.00 = I did not subscibe – I did not ask them to download anything.
I called Rogers and they asked me to call Motime – the operator sid she cannot reverse the charges – so I asked for the Supervisor to call – I am still waiting. I will call Rogers again.
My question is why are they allowed to charge on Rogers Bill? and should Rogers share some of the blame for this.
These people should be shot – what can I do to stop them from future charges and to whom should I approach next to get the charges reinbursed.
April 20th, 2011 at 9:37 am
What a scam….. I did not try to download a free ring tone. I went looking for a particular ringtone, found it, put in my cell phone number and poof, I was signed up for $13 a month. And THEN they tell me they didn’t even have the ringtone I wanted.
Immediately tried to cancel it, and it was very difficult to find any information about how to do that. But 2 months later they sneak the $13 charge on to my cell phone. When I called to complain I got routed to the call centre in India and although I called twice and spoke to 2 different people, then a supervisor they all said the same thing. Tough luck.
Blatant outright robbery is what it is. Someone is making a lot of money scamming $13 out of a lot of people.
April 23rd, 2011 at 8:09 am
They are a SCAM! I just contacted their customer service and they said I could not get a refund. Their customer service line is of a English speaking woman but the person that is helping you is of Indian decent. I had a hard time hearing them and then when they did speak, they were going a million miles a minute.
As stated from someone else, they give you the impression that they are free and they are not. I will seriously read the fine print from now on. I will pay the $10.00 because that’s what it is in my head. They will not receive any service from me. They need to be shut down.
April 30th, 2011 at 12:00 pm
MOTIME SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOU WILL GET NO SONGS. THEY SAY THEY HAVE THE SONG YOUR LOOKING FOR AND U WILL SING UP AFTER THEY WILL NOT HAVE THAT SONG!!!! FU MOTIME>>>>
May 2nd, 2011 at 6:32 pm
A total SCAM! I did not ask for it or try to download anything from my phone. $13 and roger said they can’t do anything about it. What a scam. Truly, it randomly pick people out of nowhere and scam them for $13. And I am not sure it will continue.
May 3rd, 2011 at 7:05 am

May 9th, 2011 at 11:49 am

June 26th, 2011 at 7:51 pm
, as soon as you type in your phone number, somehow they have the right to steal 10 dollars from you. You get no songs, total bullshit that Rogers allows them to rob you. I never agreed to give them any money, nothing was said about money. They just get your number from you and take 10 dollars. This has been going on a while, why the hell havent they been shut down? to many weasels in this world thanks alot Rogers
July 2nd, 2011 at 5:24 pm
Well. I’m getting my money back. 2 working weeks. Tell them you’re with your lawyer and you have proof that the company has NO location with the better business bureau, and that they sign you in without proper authentication and bam. you get your money back. After all is said and done contact Rogers and bitch to them. More of us complain better chances for us to never see that stupid MoTime scams for ring backs.
July 3rd, 2011 at 10:41 am
It’s a scam!! I called their customer service two minutes after I realized they were going to charge my account. They lure you by making you think you’re getting a free ringtone. I miss understood their text. I did not downloand anything, not interested, but they still refuse to do anything. They were all indians reading scripts. Beware!!!
July 18th, 2011 at 8:42 pm
I see I am not alone! Yea, free is not free.
I don’t know how I got stung by this!

July 27th, 2011 at 3:03 pm
I have no interest in ringtones and motime has been charging me 9.99 per month for I don’t know how long so called them today to see who they are. Some Indian woman that spoke little english said I must have confirmed I wanted it so am charged monthly. I told her I use the ringtone the phones used 30 years ago and have no use for ringtones. I noticed for several months I have been getting a text from them saying to text them back to cancel but not knowing who they were didn’t.
Beware, if you get a text from motime, you are paying for something you didn’t subscribe to and it is hidden in your Verizon bill. It is a scam.
July 30th, 2011 at 2:26 am
Motime/dada… what a bunch of BS. I nor anyone on my account has heard of or signed up for this service and BAM a $9.99 charge on my verizon bill, send stop to 63232 and 3200, whag do you know get a text from both numbers saying I am not a subscriber. So what gives. I am calling the customer service today and getting this off my bill. Also I will call verizon and tell them they shouldn’t allow this to happen to their customers. They should not deal with this service. Will update after talking to them later today. I hate thiefs and that’s what this company is…
July 30th, 2011 at 2:27 am
I meant sent stop to 32000,
July 30th, 2011 at 2:35 am
Here is the address for the company. The name motime is just a domain name owned by the company Dada USA
536 Broadway 3rd Floor New York, NY 10012. Their phone number is also listed but not sure what good it will do. Maybe bombard them with letters stating the uproar they have caused. I am angry and will first call them today and if no help then the letters begin. Everyone call or write and complain….
August 3rd, 2011 at 12:27 pm
My advice to everyone: STAY AWAY FROM MOTIME.COM. It is NOT a free service–it is a subscription service that will cost you monthly, regardless of whether or not you download a single thing. And, although I called them within minutes of accidentally enrolling in the service (when I thought I was ordering a free ringtone), the REFUSE to refund the service fee! My advice: STAY AWAY FROM MOTIME.COM!
August 3rd, 2011 at 12:37 pm
To Charles’ comment on July 5th, in my opinion they ARE trying to trick people. Why else do they show up when you browse for “free ringtones”? My advice to everyone: AVOID THIS COMPANY–DO NOT USE motime.com!!
August 22nd, 2011 at 5:37 pm
Absolute Scam!!!!! Read a bunch of the reviews and I had the same thing happen to me. Some BS Indian said I signed up when I didn’t. Charging me $13/month. These guys should be hung by their MOTIME BALLS! and whipped with hooks.
August 29th, 2011 at 3:01 pm
I agree with all of you, what a big scam Motime is.I also spoke to some Indian that told me that I now signed up and need to pay him $13.00.
Why the balls, let go for the neck and get it over with. They are one BIG RIP OFF.
Stay away from the company.
October 8th, 2011 at 9:31 am
Several weeks ago, I got this text message saying for downloading ringtones, please text back. I deleted the text message and never registered for any ringtones. I recently found on my phone bill a charge of $13 from Motime for a service that I never registered and used. When I called Fido, they just told me that they are not responsible and that I should contact Motime. This is totally ridiculous. Contact the RCMP immediately about this.
October 8th, 2011 at 10:07 am
I called Fido again to request for them to reverse the charges. Fido kept telling me to just call Motime. Every time I call Motime, I press the button to speak to billing and then the phone disconnects. I being held hostage here. Motime already took $13 out of my prepaid air time balance with Fido. Also, I cannot continue using my current cellphone because Motime might charge me again.
October 16th, 2011 at 7:01 am
I’ll say this, everyone who said it’s a scam is totally accurate! Is it any wonder that 99.99% of people’s comments are about “Mythum”/”Motime” being a scam and one person rebutting? The person who is pro is obviously an employee of the company, but to equal all the negative comments you’ll have to sit and type day-in and day-out. Anyway, to my experience. I get my first actual bill from Rogers and here is this Motime BS charge of $13 for a ringtone or some garbage. I call the number they give on the bill to contact “Motime” and I get an automated voice that tells me to call another number. I call that other number and I get on the phone with some individual that sounds like she is in the continent of Africa. I give her my cell phone number and she tells me that “my number doesn’t show up in their system.” So I’m thinking, “okay, I was charged by a company that doesn’t have me in their system, is that possible?” I call back to the first automated number and it states to cancel text “STOP” to “63232,” and this is the automatic reply I get “Motime: You’re not currently a Motime member. For help, text HELP. You will not receive any more messages from this service.” What a joke huh?
I was informed by the Rogers rep that anytime you receive a text from one of these companies type “STOP” right away.
October 21st, 2011 at 10:11 pm
Let’s just say i am another unfortunate person who just lost $13 today to this evil scam. I hope there is someone out there who can help to stop these evil @$$holes once and for all.
November 2nd, 2011 at 1:38 pm
Others here got charged $9.99 but I got charged nearly over $13.00. It was advertized as FREE….there was NOTHÏNG about charges….if I new there were charges, I would have gone to a site that was actually FREE and not a scam.
I admit,I feel stupid for being scammed. But I dont think it our fault like someone else said here.
But there are FREE sites out there….so that is why I beleived it and punched in my phone.
And I got NO verification that there was any transaction.
I was waiting for some sort of response so I could get a ring tone so I got NO RING TONE out of it.
For $13.00, I could have bought a CD and heard 10 songs….not an empty promise of 5 second ring tone.
And it was obviously an “Indian Call-Centre” when I cancelled. Another respondant suggested that too. If I were them, I would demand a better wage. There being scammed too. I bet just one scammed customer in North America, is a persons entire monthly wage there.
November 11th, 2011 at 3:27 pm
These scamers should be arrested and put in
Jail. Rogers is another useless cell phone provider that does not look after the interest of their customers. They told me to call motime and what a pleasure to talk to the Indian call centre, got no where and i have to pay $13 to rogers. I had to cancel my cell service and switch to bell.
the RCMP should investigate these aholes.
November 14th, 2011 at 10:02 am
I got charged on my fido bill today of $13 dollars that I didn’t know about. Fido told me they were sorry for the charges and the’s nothing they can do to refund the charged. Rep. told me to call them and ask how I got charged which I did and learned that Fido support these scammers, fraud Alienated people that take our money that we worked so hard.
They should difinetely investigate these scammers and do something about it for the sake of good citizen of this Country (Canada). Big Scam in North America and should be justified and not be supported.

SCAM! SCAM! DON”T BE SUCKERED!
January 13th, 2012 at 10:31 pm
SCAM!
I am a Fido pre-paid client. Here is details:
- remaining balance in my account $3.80
- refilled amount early this morning $10
I was surprised why my Fido airtime balance remained $0.80 in the evening. I log-in Fido website and found out a $13 was charged by “Partner/Vendor: Motime” listed in the “Third Party Transaction history”:
“Subscription + $3 DL Fee Amount $13.80″ today @ 2012/01/13 12:24
I’ve never subcribed/using any thing from this company. What’s going on???
January 22nd, 2012 at 7:07 pm
Just spent hours on the phone with Rogers, who, in their minds have no culpability and absolutely no WAY to block motimes charges.
In fact, the first Rogers rep, claimed that I my charges must come from facebook or twitter or other social media! Claiming that her records showed me txt photos/videos to facebook.
The second rep was able to give me Mobile Village Gossip’s #….saying my only option was to call them. Turns out this was the MOTIME website…they claimed I signed up at the website, and that I received a PIN, and would then have to go back and enter that PIN in the website.
Well, I’d never been to “MOTIME” before, and when I checked my txts, indeed, a message came from MOTIME on the date they claimed….NO PIN WAS GIVEN…just a special offer. My reply: ” Hi Gorgeous!” (I dislike random spam, and thus the glib reply)
That’s it….now I’ve been charged for months from MOTIME and Rogers will do nothing about it.
Both companies, are shameful, criminal organizations.
January 30th, 2012 at 12:24 pm
SCAM!!!!!!! clicked on a “free” ringtone – NO info re subscribing, and now they won’t refund me $30 – my cell phone carrier won’t help – AVOID them!!!!
January 30th, 2012 at 4:02 pm
They are scammers, thieves robbers. How to stop them?
